Confessions of a Publisher

What is it about a person's book collection? Whenever I enter someone's house for the first time, the book collection always draws me in. Books tell you many things about their owner. The lack of any books may tell you many things as well.

The act of publishing a book seems one of a higher calling than many other things, so I am proud to be part of advancing the intellectual content of the human race. A bit over-the-top, I admit, but if book burning is considered a horrible act, then wouldn’t book publishing, therefore, be considered an act of high achievement?

What I offer the author is a close production relationship where the design and production phase of the book can be monitored with more input than with other publishers. This provides for a more responsive creative team to the ideas of the author. Additionally, the cost of production may in many instances be less than that incurred using other publishing services.
